SMP Group 1 – Day 2
Group 1 Day 2
Today is the second day we’re in Singapore which means it is our first day of school in Dunman. The days we have been waiting for the past month has finally happened.
Our day started with us waking up around 6 am. After waking up we got ready for school and have breakfast first. We had our breakfast at the hotel. There was a lot of food available and the taste is no less delicious, even when compared to Indonesian food which is more savory in taste. After filling our stomaches we continued to go to Dunman High School.
We were greeted by our buddies the moment we arrived at the school and got to know each other well, then we went to the auditorium to get briefed. After that we went to our buddies classes, though we all agreed that their materials were hard because they were a year above us, but we all tried to understand.
After a long period of studying, we had lunch in break time. In Dunman High School, there were so many stalls of foods and drinks. There were Korean, Thai, Malay, Western, Noodles, Drinks, and more. Their foods were amazing! I couldn’t even describe the delicateness of the foods they made!
We then arrived at The Gardens by the Bay. Unfortunately it was raining when we took our group photo on the Gardens by the Bay sign. After we took the photo, we went inside to the flower dome as our first destination. We took photos and learned about the plants from around the world. It was a pretty short journey on the first dome. After that, we transferred to the forest cloud building. There was an artificial mountain inside with a lot of waterfalls. The month we arrived today it was themed as Avatar, a popular movie. We took more photos then went home. It was very pretty.
After we had this very exciting day, we ended it with dinner. We had dinner at the Signature Strait Chinese Restaurant. We ate fried chicken and crackers, then salted eggs, vegetables, fried dory fish, french fries, and fried kekian. Everything was very tasty, and this was the most delicious food compared to lunch earlier. Everybody enjoyed their food while talking and joking together. And we closed it by eating dessert, oranges and watermelon. After we finished eating, went straight back to the hotel, took a shower, and rested.
All went as how we expected. We got excited by our “buddies”, which are essential part of Dunman High School learning. They guided us from the beginning to the end, and some even toured us around their school. The foods were all better than we expected. We wished new things to appear before us as we explore the school even more. We are excited as we are going to follow through a new schedule. That’s all we have for today, waiting for the next day to arrive.
