This was a very beautiful morning, we woke up then we took a shower and had a breakfast. We ate cereal, potato wedges, boiled egg, sausage, and bread. We had breakfast for 20 minutes, after that we went downstairs and were given some instructions. After everyone finished breakfast, we immediately got on the bus to went to the Science Center.

Our first stop was the Singapore Science Center. When we arrived, it was very crowded. We went in and started at an illusion gallery. We then proceeded to the physic hall where we played a glass maze. After that, we did an experiment about strawberry DNA. After that, we went to the aquatic hall. After some more exploring, we went to the gift shop and took a photo afterwards.

Next, our last lunch at Singapore. Marina Square Mall is the location of the restaurant. We ate all-you-can-eat food in a Korean restaurant called “Seoul Garden”. We ate lots of tasty foods such as grilled meat, tteokbokki, ramyeon noodles, and kimchi. Since this was our last lunch in Singapore, we enjoyed our foods for the last time. Then, we went for shopping for a while to spend more time in the mall before we went to the airport.

After eating a feastful lunch, the tour guide gave us a little bit of time to go shopping. She gave us less time than usual because of the departure time. We all went to nearby shops, where we all bought the last things we wanted before we went away from Singapore.

Once again, we arrived at Changi Airport and we had a couple of hours to spend before our flight was due, after a few hours went through. We went security without any problems. After that, we went and board our flight back to Surabaya and it was a safe flight.

After arriving in Surabaya, We got off the plane using the bus because our landing place was quite far. Followed by going through the immigration process and picking up the suitcase. Because it wasn’t just our plane that landed, we had to wait until the passenger baggage collection from the other plane was over. While waiting, one by one started to shed tears and finally we cried together. It is quite sad for us that we have to part ways after a week of fun together. We hug each other and said sorry if we have done something wrong in intentionally or unintentionally.

Then, Ms. Hariati called us to get our suitcases and we finally went out and met our respective families. We gathered for a while for the last time and went home with an empty wallet but a heart full of memories.

This is an ending of a long, happy, exciting, yet exhausting week, we learned a lot of new things from Singapore. We learned a lot about how to be disciplined in time, belongings, behavior, and studying. Singapore had been an incredible example of Indonesia’s future. Singapore, thank you for every single memories that we made together. Whether sometimes we had a bit of difficulty with things, but every single thing we did was really meaningful. Just how fast the night changes right? We hope we can meet you again, Priscilla, buddies, teachers, and friends. Thank you for everything. See you when we meet again!

Today is the day we might not be waiting for, but it has to come to an end for our adventure in Singapore. But before that, we had some time to eat breakfast to get more energy for today. We got called at 7:30 am to get ready for breakfast at 8:00 am; before that, we have to pack our things to directly check out of the hotel later on. 

Everyone was hungry and we had a lot of choices to pick from. There were sausages, bread, cereal, noodles, bakpao, veggies and much more. Everyone had a great meal and breakfast today. After breakfast we went in the bus to go to our first destination.

Next thing that we must do before leaving the hotel was to check out. After we all had our breakfast, the teachers told us to get back to our room to take the room key. We also needed to recheck all of our belonging so there is no stuff left in the room. 

The next thing we did, we went downstair again to give back our room key to the registration. After all done, we gathered together and waited for the bus to arrive.

After that, we got in to the bus and we were heading to the Science Centre. After we arrived at our destination, we went inside to explore the place, we didn’t take a picture first because we didnt have enough time, so after we have done exploring we could take a group picture. When we came inside there are a lot of painting, picture, sclupture, ilustration,demonstration,etc. After we have done exploring we went outside to buy some souvenirs. Next we go and take a group picture. 

After we were done with our last tour at Science Centre, we are going to have lunch at a mall near there, surprisingly, we were eating at an all you can eat restaurant. After we arrived, we started heading to the restaurant at Marina Square mall at level 3. Since it’s an all you can eat restaurant, we took so much food all at once. Our favourite dish there was the blackpepper beef and spicy chicken. There was also a hotpot too! We took so much food there also the funny part is that we took so much we almost couldnt finished it. There were also some free ice cream for us to enjoy after eating. After eating, we actually got 30 minutes of free time and since it was quick, most of us only bought some boba tea. 30 minutes ended and we got to the meeting point that has been assigned from Ms. Priscilla, our tour guide. After all that eventually we got in to the bus together and continuing our last destination in Singapore which would be the airport.

Finally, after 6 days in Singapore, we finally finished our journey here. We all had good times exploring Singapore and meeting new friends. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. 

We finally headed to Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport where we checked ourselves and our luggage in before we went into the shopping district. We all split up and went shopping, some of us got snacks and some of us got souvenirs for our friends and family. 

We then went on to check all our bags into customs and waited in front of the gate to enter the plane. We all talked about all the good and bad experiences we had in Singapore, it was a very emotional moment for all of us because we had spent the last 6 days together. 

Then, the announcement for boarding sounded. We all got into our plane, Garuda 855. We all took a seat in the plane before the plane finally took off. Thankfully, we landed back in Surabaya safely and met back up with our families.

Today was the last day of our Petra Exchange Programme, the reality which we cannot bargain and ignore anymore.

We woke up a little later than usual as we did not have school today. However, breakfast still started at 07.00, so some of us woke up at the same time as regular. After breakfast, we immediately went back to our rooms to finish our packing and make sure nothing was left behind. It was really important for us to keep rechecking on our belongings since we could never go back to the hotel if we left any of our personal belongings there. Once everyone was ready with their luggage with them, we entered the bus and prepared for today’s trip.

There’s a saying that goes “Science is nothing but perception” by Plato. That was exactly what we were going to practise in our final sightseeing destination, Singapore Science Centre. From the sparks of electricity to the vibrant neon lights, we were astounded by the games and machines displayed there. One of our most enjoyed rooms was the mirror maze where we had to stick together and find our way out while making sure we didn’t bump into any mirrors! It was truly such a great opportunity for us to see science in action.

After our fun trip to the Singapore Science Centre, we went to Marina Square for our lunch and a short shopping session. For lunch, we were brought to Seoul Garden where we had an all you can eat session of Korean food and roasted meat. We were so glad to be able to eat as much as we wanted and satisfy ourselves for our last lunch in Singapore. Everytime someone would remind us of the fact that we have less than a day left, we’d start shedding a few drops of tears.

Once we finished off our visit to Marina Square with a short shopping session, we then went on our way to the airport. The process of checking in and immigration was surprisingly easy, so we had some free time to explore Terminal 3 as we finished off clearance quickly.

Then, the moment we’ve all been anxiously waiting for. As the plane was finally boarding, we moved along into the aircraft one by one and said our final goodbyes to Singapore.

After the 2-hour-long flight, everyone moved on with clearance and claimed their luggage. As we took a step out to the arrival hall, our parents were already waiting for us. Subsequently, everyone rushed to their parents for a reunion. It was truly a heartwarming view of people smiling, hugging, and crying tears of joy for the past week.

It has been such an unprecedented honor for us to be part of this Petra Exchange Program. A million words would never describe the vibrant colors this experience has painted in our hearts. Thank you everyone and we hope to see you again in the future!

This morning started with a beautiful sunrise appearing on our balcony. Followed by Miss Lintang knocking on our door and warned us that we should gather to eat breakfast at 06.30.

The breakfast was delicious and really enjoyed it.

We arrived at Dunman High for the last time today. We started our day there by going to our classes with our buddies. We learned new things academically and we learned a lot of life and manner lessons. They are very disciplined with time and respect the teachers and others. After a few classes, we went to the canteen to lunch. Today, we ate Korean food. After lunch, we continued with a few more classes.

The time has come to say good bye. We exchanged gifts, took lots of photos, gave our best wishes to our buddies, and finally, we said good bye to our buddies, teachers, and other students. Today at school was a mix of emotions, we are happy that we’re going home, but we’re also sad to leave and separate from our buddies and teachers. We ended up saying good bye to the principal and left.

After going to school, we went straight to LTA. LTA also known as Land Transport Authority, it contained all information we needed about Singapore Transportations. LTA had very interesting devices that showed how people repair underground subways. LTA showed us how much we can restrict the production of CO² by walking or using a bike.

After we went to LTA, we went to Plaza Singapore. There the tour guide gave us the meet-up location then we were given some time to shop, for the 8th graders were separated into three groups, each group with different shopping destinations. Some went shopping for clothes some went to buy souvenirs.

After we had a tiring afternoon, we went for dinner. We ate at Simply Peranakan Authentic Asian Cuisine Restaurant. We ate fried chicken, fried kekian vegetable soup, mustard greens, eggs, and dori fish. The taste of fried chicken, fried kekian, and eggs was very tasty. The taste of the vegetable soup was very unique, and the taste of the dory fish was sweet. We all enjoyed it while talking and joking together. After dinner, we went back to the hotel by bus. After arrived, we immediately took a shower and got ready to make a report. We all finished making a report, and we immediately rest.

Five days have passed. This day is our last chance to say goodbye to everyone. Our tour guide, Dunman High School buddies and teachers, then lastly, our Petra friends and teachers. Sadly, we have to leave tomorrow night. We would like to say thank you to Singapore for being a part of our story and also for giving us a chance to run Petra’s Exchange Program successfully. Thank you to Dunman High’s principal, teachers, staff, and students for making us feel welcomed. Dunman buddies, we will miss you so much. Thank you for all of the memories we made and your special presents. This day will be a great history for us. Thank you for everything today, see you tomorrow.

This was our last day at Dunman Highschool. Yesterday, we all woke up early, because we would all leave early. We had all been told to gather in front of the elevator at 6.45. Since it was the last day at Dunman, we all made sure to be on time.

Before leaving, of course, we all had to fill up our energy first, so we all gathered at the RELC’s Scrumptious Cafe for breakfast. All junior and senior high school students had gathered there at 7 o’clock. We were all given about 20 minutes to eat because the bus would arrive at 15 minutes past 7. There were lots of food served by the hotel for our breakfast yesterday. There were sausages, porridge, bihun noodles, salads, and much more. All the food there was very delicious.

Not only food, but the hotel also provided many kinds of drinks. There was tea, coffee, milk, and the most interesting was flavored water. There were two kinds, which were water with blueberry and strawberry flavors. Both drinks were very refreshing with their sweet and sour taste. We could also add sugar to the coffee and tea according to what we wanted.

After breakfast, we went down to the lobby in order to go to the bus. After the bus came, we went out of the hotel because the bus could not go inside the pick-up place. After we arrived at the school, we had to wait in the lobby before the flag raise ended. After the flag raise was done, we could go upstairs to our class. Our first class was History, but before that, we needed to change classes because our class would be another lesson. We were doing some papers so that we could study for the upcoming exam. The teacher was really friendly and funny, his name was Mr. Emmanuel. We gave him some gifts from Indonesia because he was our favorite teacher there. After the history lesson, we went back to our class. The next lesson was English, the teacher was explaining about how to present and how to keep the viewer’s attention, and after that, the teacher explained the materials. The teacher gave us some papers. After that, we also had some lessons, such as Social Studies, Biology, Physics, Chemistry.

After all of those lessons ended, we got on our bus at 2PM and we went straight to our next destination.

After completing our coursework at Dunman High, we boarded the bus to continue to our next location. We unexpectedly visited LTA, which stands for Land Transport Authority. The first and most crucial step after getting there was taking a group photo of the PETRA team. Following our group shot, we started moving toward the LTA gallery. There were a lot of interesting transportation-related facts and historical information in there, including information on how the MRT was created and how stop signs functioned. There were interactive learning activities in LTA as well, like virtual reality railway rail repair and virtual reality driving a bus experience! There was also a survey you could complete and you could get a miniature cardboard bus for free. After all that, we gathered at the meeting point and went into the bus to continue to our next destination.

Before dinner, we all went shopping at Plaza Singapura. Plaza Singapura is a shopping mall on Orchard Road, we split into 3 groups, and each went to different stores.

Group 1 with Ms. Lintang as the mentor, Group 2 with Mr. Nando as the mentor, and Group 3 with Mr. Ngatmin as the mentor. We all went our separate ways and went shopping.

Most of us bought souvenirs for our friends and family back in Surabaya, and some of us also bought some light snacks to eat while shopping.

Today is the most unforgettable day of our stay in singapore.

Today was our last day of school. Waking up early in the morning, we tried to cherish the day a lot more. We then had breakfast, which had lasagna, sausages, salads and fish soup. Then, everyone went downstairs to enter the bus and went for our last day of school.

Finally, we arrived at school. As usual, we went straight to class and followed the lesson. After all the lessons were finished, we gathered in the school lobby, where we took photos in the school garden, after that we immediately gave farewell gifts to our buddies. Then, we immediately met with the school administrators and school principal and thanked them for the last time. Finally, we got on the bus and said good bye to the residents of Dunman High School.

To start off our sightseeing journey today, we visited the Singapore Mobility Gallery. There were so many different interactive games to play with. These games were specially aimed for young generations like us to expand our thoughts and critical thinking in building a more sustainable nation in terms of public transport and technology. It was really impressive to see that people nowadays are starting to invest more into our education, so there was a flaming sense of motivation that started to grow in our hearts. Aside from that, the majority of us lined up to give short reviews on our experience and receive a train miniature set for our reviews.

We took the bus to the Plaza Singapore, a jaw-dropping mall with 7 floors! Like our previous shopping experiences, we went in groups according to our main shop destinations. Everyone was already over the moon, but there was one thing that kept us a bit on our toes, and that was time. Although an hour was given to us, we still had to be cautious and make sure we return on time, and that was exactly what we successfully did! As everyone arrived at the meeting point group by group, we were all seen with a warm, wide smile planted on our faces.

We walked from the mall for about 300 meters to a restaurant called “Simply Peranakan – Authentic Asian Cuisine”. We took our seats in a round table. The food were served as soon as we got there. There were chicken, vegetables, egg, apples, soup, and more. There were delicous, as usual. We were also given warm tea.

At the end of the day, we arrived at the hotel and got to our rooms. Honestly, it was really heartbreaking to know that this was our last day in Singapore. Time does fly very fast. Our trip so far has truly been spectacular and it has been a privilege to learn in Dunman High School. Thank you Dunman High School, we love you!

On this beautiful morning, we woke up happily to face another wonderful day. After waking up, we all immediately showered and got ready for breakfast. Everyone had gathered, we just went downstairs for breakfast. Today the food was kwetiaw, potato wedges, boiled eggs, pastries, cereal. For dessert, we have as usual oranges and apples and marmalade. We had breakfast for 40 minutes, after which we went downstairs and were given some instructions. When we wanted to leave the hotel, it was raining really hard, so we had to use raincoats and umbrellas. After everything was ready, we just got on the bus to go to school.

About 15 or more minutes later, we finally arrived at Dunman High School. Our buddies immediately greeted us in the lobby to guide our way to our classes. As usual, we went to the classes of 3rd year students of Dunman Junior High School to study with the other students. We learnt lots of interesting materials in different subjects. Today, we did an experiment in Chemistry. It was about “Rainbow in A Tube ”. The results were spectacularly done. Furthermore, we took some photos with our buddies before we left the school to go to the next destination. Lastly, we said goodbye to our buddies and everyone from the school and we immediately went to a perfume workshop to continue our activity today.

After school, we went to Oo La Lab, a perfume laboratorium, where we all went in to make the perfumes of our creations. We were briefed for a bit about how to make the perfumes, then we were given a questionnaire to fill out and to help us remember about our perfume’s composure. In the end, every person had a different scent and aroma, and after we all finished our perfumes we all earned caps to close up our perfumes.

After finishing out perfume workshop, we then headed to the restaurant for dinner because we were all are very hungry. For today we went to a Chinese restaurant called bay kut teh. The restaurant itself is located in a mall where the mall has a bridge that connects to the vivo mall. Soup baikut, cakwe, soy baikut, and some vegetables were the dishes that was being served. The best one for me was cakwe. It’s hard to describe it but it felt just right in the mouth. Second one was the soy baikut, soy baikut is one of the only true few truly Singaporean culture heritage dishes. After finishing all of our food, then we move to vivo to go shopping.

We had so much fun overall, expecting everything we could possibly get. All of us had so many things to learn together and it was very memorable. We got our breakfast, met our buddies, experimented with perfumes, went to Vivo Mall, and more. It was very exhausting, but we still have to gather energy for tomorrow’s last day at Dunman High School. We hope that tomorrow’s activity can run well and structured so that all these moments happening at PEP can be such memorable moments and lessons for us. See you on day 5 !

Another morning for another fun activity! Before we started to do the activities, we had to fill up our energy with food and water. The day started off with us eating breakfast in the hotel. Everyday there are a lot of new kind of foods and drinks to pick.

We had kwetiau, bread, cereal, veggies, porridge
and more. The food looked delicious but the drinks was also the same too, there were blueberry water, lime water and water. They tasted delicious! This morning, we had around an hour to eat breakfast, from 7:00 am until 8:00 am. After we ate breakfast, we went to the bus and started our activities for today. After breakfast, we got on our bus and went to Dunman High School for lessons. Once we arrived, we met up with our buddies and headed to our classes. Firstly, we took part in the Flag Raising before continuing with the lessons.

We all had lessons ranging from Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, PE, English, Chinese, History, Geography, and more.

Here are some of the materials we learnt from our lessons:
We learnt about Roots in Mathematics, Essay Analysis, Soundwaves in Physics, Cells in Biology, Table Tennis in PE, Singaporean History, etc.

We all finished our lessons at around 2PM and went to the meet up point at the school lobby to transfer to our next destination.

After finishing up our schedule in Dunman, we then began to start our journey of the day. Turns out we were going to a perfume to a perfume centre called “Oo La Lab”. We learnt so much about the company’s history and we also learnt about making a perfume ourselves! We learnt that there are so much components for making a single bottle of perfume such as fresh, floral, oriental, woods, and complex. Most of us chose a fresh element for our bottle of perfume. The instructors there were very helpful and great! We got so much inspiration for our scent from them too. After we finished making our perfume, we took a group photo with the instructors and the teachers. After that, we’re done and we got to the bus to continue to our next location.

After we have finished going to the Oo La Lab or perfume workshop, we went to Vivo to eat dinner and shopping. It takes about 15-20 minutes to go to Vivo. The way to go to Vivo was really great. There are a lot of trees and flowers. After we arrived at Vivo, we went straight to the restaurant. We went to a Chinese restaurant, namely bak kut teh. Bak kut teh is also located inside Vivo mall. As the name suggests, the most famous food from this restaurant is bay kut. After we sat down, they immediately served the first meal which was rice with soy sauce pork. Different from the previous restaurants, they served rice per bowl for one person. The soy sauce pork was very soft and the spices were very tasty. We were also given cold fresh tea. Our second meal was given cakue and also vegetables with slightly sour spices. The cake was very tasty and also crunchy. The last food we eat was baykut. The baykut that was served was still very warm so it was very delicious when it was eaten. The taste of the baykut sauce was also very delicious and the meat was very tender.

After, We have already done eating, our teachers let us to have a free time to go around shopping. However, before that, we need to discuss the meeting point. After we were done discussing the meeting point, we went around to buy souvenirs for our family and friends. After 6.50, we met again at the meeting point, which is in G2000. Today was a really delightful day.

Today (05/04/23) started just like any other day – waking up early and getting breakfast. What was different today is that it was raining heavily! Hence, we all swiftly put on our raincoats and opened our umbrellas. Thankfully, all of us got into the bus safely and we soon arrived at Dunman High School. We then got greeted by our buddies and continued with our school activities.

From our hotel, we got straight to school. After arriving at school, we went straight to our respective classes and followed the lesson. There were some students who followed chemistry practicum. They said that the practicum was very exciting. After the exciting lessons, students gathered in the school lobby at 2 p.m.

Our first activity after school was to attend a Parfume Workshop in Oo La Labs to create our own unique parfumes. It was a great opportunity for us to be creative and experiment on the different parfume combinations. The sweet and refreshing fragrance of parfume danced into our nostrils as we entered the room. It was surprisingly easy to blend the liquids into a perfume, which encouraged us even more to keep exploring the different aromas to mingle with.

After having fun in the perfume workshop “Oo La Lab”, we went to Vivo Mall to go shopping and had dinner together. We arrived after 10-15 minutes and had dinner at a restaurant named “Song Fa Bak Kut Teh”. We took turns sitting in groups of 8 and 4. The food were soon served and they were delicious, especially the soup. We were allowed to have refills for the soup and tea.

With our bellies fully satisfied, we continued with our shopping in Vivo City. The students separated into their groups with the teacher by their side throughout their journey around the mall. Aside from the fact that we got to buy even more souvenirs, our shopping trip this time was way more discipline and organized. Everyone was already gathering in the meeting point before the meeting time.

At the end of the day, around 7.50 pm, we arrived at the hotel and got a brief announcement as a reminder for tomorrow’s plans. We actually finished most of our journal throughout today’s activities, so that night was not as hectic as the other days were.

Today, we have learned that although it might sound simple, we were really proud that we could actually practise obedience and become an individual who does not prioritize themselves over others.

The third day was the most enjoyable day. Today we woke up earlier than usual, and went to school early. We woke up at 5 in the morning then took a shower and got ready for breakfast. Then after that, we waited for all of our friends to have breakfast together. After waiting about 15 minutes, we went down to the 4th floor for breakfast. There was pasta, chicken porridge, bread, eggs, potato wedges. and for dessert there were oranges and apples and cake. After finished breakfast, we left at 7 to school by bus. It turns out we were late and we had to run to school. Then we met our buddy.

After finishing our breakfast we head directly to Dunman High School. Every Tuesday there is an assemble that is located in the theater hall. Assembly this morning talks about organ transplants and it was very interesting for us. There are lots of new information that we gain today. After the assembly, we started the lesson of the day. We separated with our own buddies. The lesson was quite challenging but luckily we have our buddies to help us out.

We then went to NEWater, where 1/3 of Singapores water supply is being recycled back, ready to be used. Even from the entrance, we saw a huge pool on the right side. When the tour guide begins the tour, we went inside the mini auditorium, where we watched about Singapores water supplies. We then went onto the next room, where there was gadgets, games, and other cool stuffs. The room also contained useful facts about water usages. After that, we went into the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, where we explored how Singapore recycles their water. The steps are called microfiltering, reverse osmosis, and UV disinfection. This made sure Singapores recycled water stays clean and hygiened at all times.

The first thing we did as we all arrived in Jewel, we went to Irvin’s. In that place, we got introduced to the history of Irvin’s that started out as a seafood restaurant. There we all got to sample almost every product of theirs , and after that we all bought some Irvin’s because it tasted good.

Then, we went to the fountain and took lots and lots of photos. The fountain was very big and tall with lots and lots of stores beside it. After that, we had our free time to buy stuffs that we want and went back to the bus. It was very beautiful, very fun, and very memorable.

Our final destination was Swing Swee Kee restaurant. In this restaurant, we ate lots of delicious foods! There were hainan rice with koloke, stir fried pork, tofu, cabbage, and lettuce, stramed and roasted chicken. We really enjoyed those foods. Thanks to our teachers and tour guide who chose this restaurant for us to eat.

There’s one destination that we can describe as our “highlight of the day”. It was when we went to Jewel in Changi Airport. The waterfall was indescribably beautiful. This day was a really wonderful day. We are looking forward for tomorrow’s activities might excite us tomorrow!
