Agenda: First virtual meeting with Dunman HS

  1. What did you prepare before the event?
We as Petra Highschool students have prepared numerous amount of website links to  make us more prepared for our first interview with Dunman Highschool students. I,  personally have read a couple of the articles myself, and I was one of the students who  headed 2 website links sent to our WhatsApp group. I also prepared what I had to inform  to DHS students on what we are going to present, also I prepared for greeting lines that I  had to say to express honor and respect to DHS students, which I genuinely glad I  prepared those lines first. With these efforts, I was able to approach the first interview  well and more coordinated.
  2. What did you do during the event? Explain your answer.
In the event, I spend most of my time by listening and sharing my thoughts about certain  topics given in the event. Whether it’s about my personal information and mostly  discussing about our upcoming presentation project. Whenever the DHS students spoke and elaborated, I listened. Whenever we were having time to discuss about something, I  shared my thoughts about that certain topic. On the other hand, I with other Petra  Highschool students also prepared quite a lot of things before joining the event, this  containing microphone, video, and signal checkings to provide the best possible situation.
  3. What points that you’ve found interesting from Dunman HS? Explain your answer. I am personally impressed by how collaborative DHS students are, and I think it was  outstanding to find that DHS students are so passionated and oriented to our project.  Especially to the fact that they stay remain friendly and cheerful to PHS students who they just met. Other than the students, I’ve found that DHS’ garden and statue in the  middle of their building are very interesting to see, because supported by the fact that  DHS students can come out of their classes after their school sessions ended to breathe  the fresh air and beautiful scenery of the garden.
  4. What do you think about the introduction with the Dunman HS students? What  positive points you’ve learned from them? Explain your answer.
I knew it myself that it’s believale hard for DHS students to adjust and get around with  PHS students who they just met. However, they handled the introduction, ice-breaking,  school-touring, and collaborative discussion very well, and their outstanding effort has  made positive mindset in us on how trustable and reliable they are. I have learned that I  shouldn’t be too shy when meeting people and most importantly remain calm when greeting them as I would greet myself, I have also learned that DHS students listen to  every opinion PHS student have. Based on my experience, I find it quite rare for people  to mind every problem adressed to them, but DHS students responded to all of our  questions and confusions, which was genuinely helpful for us, PHS students.
  5. What did you discuss with the Dunman HS students? What are the points? Explain  your answer in detail.
We discussed about numerous of ideas that we are going to point out in our presentation.  We mainly talked about what are the impacts to fashion and design industries caused by  the pandemic, while we also discussed about the result of the impact leading to the  progress or setbacks of industries caused by the pandemic. We also made a discussion  about matching our presentation points to the theme and not to be too distinctive away  from the theme. Other than that, we also prepared the questions of what we are going to  adress to the industry we are going to interview to support the evidence aspect of our  presentation. However, we didn’t quite discuss much about the source of our resources  we are going to extract, nor the difficulties we had while doing the interview, this was  probably caused by the limitation of time for pair-up-discussion, and the rest of our  discussion was under controlled, and we were truly happy with what we have discussed  so far.
  6. What have you got in your proposal?
In our proposal, we have discussed to get the point of view of our presentation. We mainly  discussed about how the pandemic impacted clothing industries and the sustainable  effects from the impact. Besides that, we have also discussed about website links that we  are going to use to support our presentation, from our discussion to finish our proposal,  we agreed that we mainly are going to use online websites as our resources to provide  information in our presentation. We have also chosen our group leader from both PHS  and DHS and our members’ phone number to make it more possible for us to interact,  coordinate, and prepare our presentation at our best for both country.
  7. What things you need to prepare for the project?
I will need to bring myself my private headphones to help me hear better while we  communicate with each other. Other than that, I will need to prepare the script for our  presentation, so our presentation will exactly according to the reference we agreed. The  script is one of the top things that is crucial to develop and control our presentation to the  point resulting the results as we expect.
  8. Do you have any commitments with your team in doing the project?
Yes, I do. I completely trust my team for finishing their own part with all of my trust ,and  I believe that they will offer great results. I hope we all as a team can contribute to this  big project together with trust, respect, hard work, and humbleness as one unity without  doubt and distrust. I believe that we will have great result equivalent with what we have  prepared for our presentation and mainly put our greatest effort for our project.
  9. What do you feel after the first meeting? Explain your answer I was honestly pretty relieved after we have done our first meeting with DHS students  and got to know each other for the very first time. Furthermore, I was relieved that we  have also discussed the main parts of our presentation, especially we have figured out the  sketch of our presentation, our editing app, and the color scheme of our presentation.  Despite the achievement and relief I felt, I also felt a little bit depressed and a sense of  inferiority due to the fact that my headphones did not function well in terms of very low  volume. This means that I wouldn’t hear properly what some PHS and DHS were talking  about, the issue was I could not hear what they were talking about neither I should  respond. So in that case, I mainly remain silent most of the time, but I still give elaboration  to particular questions that I could properly hear. To sum up, I genuinely felt relieved  about the discussion we have made which surpassed our expectation, while I also had  feeling of inferiority as a result of low volume received from my headphones.
  10. 10. Do you have any suggestions for the next meeting or the program?
Yes, I do. I mainly have suggestion to give PHS students access to bring their own  headphones from home instead the ones provided by Petra. This is all because I don’t  want to experience the same issue again on 26th August 2022. Other than that, the program  and meeting are already astonishing and have already provided adequate assistance to  assist our project.
